Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026
The short version: this website keeps no database of enquiries and stores nothing on your device unless you accept our cookie banner. We measure visits anonymously; only if you accept can that measurement recognise a returning visitor. When you contact us, your details come straight to us by WhatsApp, email or phone — and we use them only to deal with your enquiry.
Who we are
ANS Structural Ltd is a family-run structural construction firm and the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
ANS Structural Ltd
Registered in England and Wales, company number 14150159 · VAT GB462741096
Registered office: 7 Pepys Close, Tilbury, Essex RM18 8JT

What we collect and why
We only receive personal information when you choose to contact us. Depending on how you get in touch, that may include:
- your name and contact details (phone number, email address);
- your postcode and anything you tell us about your property and project;
- the content of our correspondence with you.
We use this information to respond to you, arrange a free site survey, prepare a written quote and, if you instruct us, carry out the work. Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services (Article 6(1)(f)).
The enquiry form
The form on our homepage gives you two ways to send an enquiry, and they work differently. Nothing you type is saved in a database on this website either way, and nothing leaves your device until you press one of the send buttons.
Send via WhatsApp composes your message on your own device and opens it in WhatsApp for you to send. Nothing is transmitted to this website at all. Your message is then delivered through WhatsApp (operated by Meta Platforms) under WhatsApp's own privacy policy — the same as any WhatsApp message you send.
Send by Email posts what you typed to our own server, which passes it straight to our office inbox as an email and keeps no copy. We use Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) as our email delivery provider, acting as our processor under a data processing agreement; mail for this domain is processed in the EU (Ireland). Resend retains delivery records for a limited period so that failed sends can be diagnosed. If our server cannot be reached, the form falls back to opening the enquiry in your own email app instead.
Whichever route you choose, the enquiry lands in our mailbox at info@ansstructural.co.uk, which is hosted on Google Workspace.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It runs on every page, but what it is allowed to do depends on your answer to our cookie banner.
Before you accept, and if you reject, it runs in Google's Consent Mode with storage switched off: no cookies are set, nothing is written to your device, and you are not recognised on a return visit. Google still receives a cookieless signal containing the page address, your browser type and your approximate location derived from your IP address, which reaches us only as an aggregate count. Our lawful basis for that limited processing is our legitimate interest (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in knowing whether the site works, balanced against the fact that it cannot identify you or track you across other websites.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets the cookies listed in our Cookie Policy so that returning visits can be told apart from new ones. Our lawful basis for that is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time through Cookie Settings in the footer — we delete those cookies when you do. Withdrawing does not affect anything measured beforehand.
Google Ireland Limited acts as our processor under Google's data processing terms, and Google may transfer data outside the UK under the International Data Transfer Addendum and its own safeguards. We run no advertising, remarketing or personalisation tags, and we never upload your enquiry details to Google.
Hosting and server logs
This website is served by Cloudflare, our hosting provider. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes visitors' IP addresses transiently in order to deliver pages and protect the site against attacks and abuse. This is based on our legitimate interest in running a fast, secure website. Cloudflare operates a global network and applies appropriate safeguards, including the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, where information is processed outside the UK.
How long we keep your information
- Enquiries that don't become a project: we keep the correspondence for up to 24 months after our last contact, then delete it.
- Enquiries that become a project: we keep contractual records for 6 years after completion, as required for legal, tax and guarantee purposes.
Who we share it with
We never sell personal information. We share it only with our hosting provider (Cloudflare, as described above), with professional advisers such as our accountant where necessary, and where the law requires us to.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- have your information erased;
- restrict or object to our processing of it;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@ansstructural.co.uk. We respond within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first and we'll do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information — for example, by introducing analytics — we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
